Anyone heard what times Doug "Hollywood" Gore ran??

Hasn't run yet... Qualifying only for CMRC. The posted times were for Thundersport.

Had a feeling Ponder and because of that we may not have seen the full extent of the AA yet

Lap times in qualifying at Dover May 24, 2009

David Summerbell   Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8             1.18.49
Stuart Maloney   Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6             1.23.xxx
Mark Maloney   Mazda RX3                             1-25.xxx

Official.. I heard timing equipment had issues.. correct?
Yes apparently the electronic  timing system broke down and they used stop watches to get these times.
Question, if they use a stopwatch to clock them, can this 1:18.49 be official, I don't think it can be. Ponder Ponder Ponder

As far as I know that time is official... for whom it is coming from. ThumbsUp

So Bull and Doug only running CMRC? And does this mean that David will have to qualify for CMRC?

Yep nothing wrong with using a stop watch, the rules probably don't even acknowledge the electronic timing system.

Shouldn't that read "not bad David and crew not bad".......If I am correct no one from AMS is even at Dover. They built the car yes, but sold it, if the car continues to win I think the current crew deserves at least some of the credit.

Stuart is over aggressive...thats why he does not drive(only navigate now) in rallies anymore but he is not a dirty driver.
Mark is a gentleman...what happened last year was a simple racing accident....PERIOD.

Why de hell you a talk bout INDY 500....this is Dover Caribbean Invasion weekend!!!

i guess i need to write comprehensive posts and state all my opnions in each and every post whether i have said b4 or not  HELP! i know the car dont drive itself  No Clue...all i was talking about was the kinda car AMS built but since it is needed as i have big up david and crew all the time but for a comprehensive statement well done david and toyracer ssworks and motorsales and all the sposnor who made it possible to keep dialing in the car at the current boost level and make the necessary changes in setup to suit you and still pull of quicker times is the testament to a well oiled crew machine and driver Not Worthy im sure theres probably more adjustment that still can be made to the car to get quicker without reaching for the boost controller

Where this "dirty driving" business come in... if it related to the accident last time wasnt it just an accident...while i was at dover last year and saw the events i myself thought that he was overly aggressive however after hearing more of the story it was just chalked up to a day of hard racing with a very unfortunate accident

Yes not bad David and Crew, not bad!
Thanks for recognizing AMS as the builder though.
I wish I could have been there this weekend! I love the passion the Jamaican's have for racing.

The record has been lowered to 1:18.58 by King David.... wicked. Wave Wave Wave Wave Wave

The AA and RX3 have qualified 1:24 , 1:23 respectively.. so far so good for team Jamaica..

is this time official?? .......dont discount the AA car just yet, if it was (according to marck c ) doing 1:22.5 consistently yesterday on a dirty track with worn tires and a technician, in the car tunning the diffs, and only running 17psi,then there might be quite a bit left in it ...that said its good to see TR and the crew  constantly developing the car and now it seem to be a much better car from when it was just bought...just hope the wet weather RACE performance has been improved as well

I dont think we know enough about that car and especially since we not there to truly discount thats why im waiting on someone like mark and duct tape who seem to have the isnside scoop on how the ars are runnings and if there are encountering problems....As i said i was TOLD from someone there that the AA has run a 1:20 but i cant confirm also heard the person say that doug said david is too fast but he will do his best to keep AA in check...but as i say its HEARSAY

                                                                                  3. Chris Campbell 1:21.9

I'm glad I went to Dover for three days straight, I got to see all the cars before, during and after they got mashed up. Today was very up and down, one minute very boring then the next minute really exciting  Drunk Celebrate

I don't know which Jamaican owns the "Bajan"Starlet anybody know Huh

I do, but can't say.

An interesting day. David totally surprised me with the new 1:18 track record; I did not know he was going for it. He is very sly like that. And yes, the boost level is the same as last year when he set it at 1:19.095, that has not been touched at all and has even been confirmed by datalog to be the same. We have been tuning suspension for two days and it has paid off. When qualifying for the CMRC he didn't get one clean lap so we didn't get to see the new record challenged. Still, I am more than satisfied with the 1:18.49

I am very glad that Kevin from Cayman is okay. I saw the beginning of his accident as I was standing by the tech inspection station. He almost saved the car, but backed off the power totally and that's when it went for the wall. With all of the kidding before the event and even before qualifying, it is hard to believe the irony of a drag racer crashing on a circuit when going in a straight line.

Also glad that Gary is okay, his accident looked worse that it was. I think the Bluff now belongs to him, as he outdid Pinky. Not only did he turn over the Civic, he skated on the roof for no less than 200 feet. As I said he is okay; Kyle is the one that had to be calmed down, which is totally understandable. He was very concerned for his father, which is only natural. Let's hope he gets it together for tomorrow (I think he will, good head on those shoulders) and goes out to drive his four races; show Daddy how its done.

Doug's qualifying time is his new personal record, congrats to him.

And, the Star continues to shine. Chris Campbell never ceases to impress. That 1:20.9 is absolutely fantastic, especially when you take the time to remember that he has been racing for a little over one year. Kudos to Chris for driving the car, and to Kassa and others for preparing it.

The RX3 left the circuit on trailer, I am not sure where it was headed. I do hope that the Maloney brothers will be able to fix their problems.

See you all at the track tomorrow.

This is the story from Saturday I hear. There are so much flames spewing from this car that he dried the track in no time. Those are orange flames to the left of the picture.

I saw Kevin Johnson's (Cayman Evo) accident firsthand. He came over the brow on the power and the back stepped to the right. he saved it from hitting the pit wall where it was hit a few times before, saved it from the outside wall, saved it from the timing equipment section and then when it looked like he held it, the car veered suddenly and had a massive flick and slammed into the wall really hard, uprooting even the foundation of the wall. He was out of the car very quickly.

Also saw Gary skating on his roof towards me when I was on the back straight. He skated all the way from Pinky's bluff and into the lowest section of the track going towards the Goodride/Triangle tyres corner. gary won't be driving that Civic tommorrow. it was left covered up at the track. it got a really good hit in Pinky's bluff and then had the damage to the roof.
Congrats to him on the times that it is said he ran, but I await official confirmation, as the times have not beed released officially yet.

Congrats to Alan Chen as well. I aways knew that car could do the 1.27's.

Tony Baileys cars spun in front of the main spectatot area. it dropped a long trail of some kind of oil on the track. it seems that soemthing in the driveline may have failed, but i am not sure.

Bowlas were running good.
Bansie was not there. If he was, I didn't see him.

Don Gilbert's Suzuki swift damaged it's engine.

Peter Jaggon ran off at the Berger corner, but I couldn't see what he damaged.

Gary Williams' gearbox and transfer case were changed and he took to the track late in the evening.
Guy Fraser also after having several problems in the day was on track and seemed to have the issues resolved.

Chris Campbell outqualified Doug in one session.

Congrats to david and crew on the new lap time. he is by a good margin the fastest car there at Dover.

The Red Bull Mazda RX3 left the track late in the afternoon on a trailer.

Timing equipment had issues.

i just hope for the sake of the sound of that AA evo (anti lag, limita works and tings)it return to the track tomorow to try and test the crazy AMS evo. I always know that too much power under the hood dont normally mek it. That guy was so confident going into the qualifying session remarking he is not afraid of no one. David may have heard that!- After doing 30 plus laps at top speed and failing to do one qualifying lap that must hurt. Coming from behind to try and catch the front runners is a task! I think if the AMS evo runs the way it did today the crowd will have  alot to talk about. RED BULL RX3 SOUNDING SWEETER THAN IT HAS EVER SOUNDED. THE FANS WILL HAVE A TREAT IF THOSE TWO CARS ARE SORTED OUT.
