Wet track is how it happened. Could have happened to anyone. The person that got hit was putting up signs for LIME.
The Audi won't be repaired we hear.
The AA Evo and the Red Bull RX3 are driving as if the track is dry. Awesome. Has stopped raining and the sky has cleared alittle bit.
Gary and Kyle Gregg have been out testing.
Some Team Mobay Racing cars have arrived as well as Dwain Rowe and his Toyota Starlet. It is reported that the pits are full already just like qualifying day.
Horse P Racing's Brian Foster is at the track with his Ultra 2000 Honda Civic.
The Kumho Tyres/Automotive Performance Centre Honda Civic Type R has also arrived and is locked up in the Team Mobay Racing bay awaiting its driver tommorrow.
Team Autosource is just about ready but are still in Kingston. The turbocharged 1600cc Mitsubishi Mirage is making very nice levels of power...more than all the Hondas, while the Petcom Mirage 1800 RS to be driven by Anna Kay Dunkley has sorted out some bugs and is just awaiting some tyres.

I would like to know, if the truck carrying the LIME stuff was on track when Handal hit it, and if so, WHY in God's name were they allowed to go on track while cars were practising?? i have been asking that question via phone call but nobody to want to answer the question...because to me that is somewhat stupid

Regarding the accident.Wait until you get all the facts before comming to a conclusion. Please be reminder that today is not official. Today is used to get the facility ready for the meet. Tomorrow and Mondar are. Drivers practicing know that in so doingknow that it is at their own risk and therefore must exercies caution. From report I received no one was seriously hurt.

Hmm, think I will side with the post above, but I am still a bit lost as to the shroud of secrecy.
1. Facts the car was an Evo not a Honda (Way to go 4WD) 2. The Lime Personnel will be ok (Needs to stick to office work) 3. Wet road is the ultimate equalizer (Just ask Bolt) 4. The Lime sign was the main casualty (When squeezed does not produce lime juice) 5. Whatever you doing, when at Dover, watch the track
Lets just all wish the poor guy a speedy recovery and hope the Evo’s driver is not too deterred by the whole thing (Evos are also much more expensive to fix than a Honda).

I agree with the first point regarding getting the facts before commenting, however I don't think that race cars should be allowed on the track where possible when you have event personnel working as accidents can happen and I'm sure if it was more serious, there might not have been the medical team/ facilities in place. We have to be more safety consious....... and since the day is set for facility preparation some kind of control should be in place. There have been many modifications to this event from the previous lets do the same and correct this in the future.

With the inclement weather being a deterrent in traveling to Dover for today's qualifying run, might I suggest that the online streaming facilities be tested once again.

There are times when the track is hot and the only people that should be infield are track personnel. It, in my opinion is irresponsible to even defend such an act. It could have been a whole lot worse, which thank God no one was seriously injured. Whatever the "facts" are the fact is that it should never have happened. Track preparations are done before or after hot sessions not during. On top of that, the possibility for incident where elevated by the conditions that where at hand. Hey crap happens but don't make excuses for the lack of proper safety procedure.. That is just plain ignorace and arrogance.

Ok so what can we learn from this incident and prevent it from re occuring I believe that track use should be restricted and monitored during race week. those who want to test and practive should do do before,on their own time at their own risk. Once the sanctioning body takes over the track the track should be CLOSED during track preparation and testing/practice should be restricted to officila practice time only! that way we can preserve our " home "track advantage

Is this the starlet that was shipped from barbados with the formula atlantic engine? If not is the formula atlantic toyota racing this meet?

For months now on every forum, all I have been hearing is how the Bajans will come to JA and take away victories and the lap record. When you step into the "Kings" throne, him haffi defend it! 4-5 seconds faster than your nearest competitor is INSANE.....mad to di world....long live the "KING"

Official.. I heard timing equipment had issues.. correct? Yes apparently the electronic timing system broke down and they used stop watches to get these times.

Hasn't run yet... Qualifying only for CMRC. The posted times were for Thundersport.

That is a very impressive time set by David, but this is not time attack. Anything can happen on the track. So let us not cook di Bajan chicken before they come out the egg Not cooking a ting... the track record has been broken by the same man that has set it... that's it.. race is race.. which I might add.. he is no slouch.
