Is it only the Maloney's that are coming to represent Barbados? What of the King Skyline, Husbands Starlet and Thompson CRX previously mentioned?
Mark's RX3 looks like it should be on permanent display somewhere, not on a race track. Truly a great looking race car.
Marck c, going back to toyracer's question, does your previous statement about the shipment mean that those three are the only cars coming from bdos?
On another note, I really hope your car is finished in time. Looking forward to see the machine on track
TR is the AMS support team gonna be hear for 24th?

Let me clear this up for everyone.
Because of the difficulty the JRDC faces with clearing the cars through customs, the overseas Teams were asked to send advance documentation for all its cars, inclusive of those who showed an interest but were not yet sure if they could make the tour.
In the case of Team Barbados, the entire list of names was released before the official Team was named and the cars shipped.
Our Team is:
1.
Stuart Maloney - Mitsubishi Evo 6 (CMRC)
2.
Mark Maloney - Mazda RX3 (CMRC)
3.
Doug Maloney - Audi Quattro (CMRC)
4.
Brook Miller - Suzuki SV650 (Bikes)
The other cars originally listed all experienced problems at our last race meet and therefore are unprepared to make the trip.

TA1 and JA1 Ready
from what i hearing and what a little birdy tell me
might have to go wid somehting more than practice mode
Maybe so but if David has been doing 1:20s in practice mode then anything more is very serious and yes you can over power dover's track

Hail TR- Could u be kind enough to tell the fans what's happening with TA1 and Team Summerbell/AMS- What is being done to the car to match the competition coming out of Barbados from BA1 (AA Evo)? Have u installed the new 6 speed dog box? Have u installed the bigger turbo!? Know u dont want to reveal much at this time but just what exactly is going down? Cant keep the fans in the dark! They need to know. Remember u have a big fan base. Some persons were questioning the practice mode stuff but from what i am seeing if that car is really runing 24psi and behaving so mad then i dont think it will need much more power than that on a track like dover to dominate the competition. The aim right now in my view should be to try and keep the car on the track for the three or four races- Based on how it ran that first race and started the second one on Easter Monday at Dover -it wont be easy for a car not use to the track, despite how fast it may be to stay before DSJNR.
That said though everyone is really yearning to see how much faster TA1 can go.

1. Drive train tear down, inspect, rebuild.
2. What new 6 speed dog box? I don't know where that rumor came from, but it may have spilled over from David wanting to install a close ratio 5 speed box.
3. Does anyone really think we need a bigger turbo?? I have a hard enough time as it is, convincing David to keep the one on the car and not change it for something smaller. Please do not mention a bigger turbo to him, as he will most likely think that I put you up to it.
4. The car has never run a qualifying lap or a race lap in "time attack mode" (30+psi). At the last event, without David's knowledge, we turned it up higher than before, on instruction from AMS, and David drove it for one warm-up lap and brought it into the pits, promptly requesting us to turn it back down to where it was before. His reason was that he didn't need it. He was so accustomed to the lower boost level he actually thought that the car was over-boosting and that something was wrong.
5. You are correct; the goal is to have the car reliable for all thee of the CC races at Dover.
6. Will let everyone know if AMS is coming.

Yow David already do 1:19 a dover and all who race there can testify that is a staggering pace, i think the Bajans will bring delight to dover but as long as TA1 reliable and JA1 is reliable too then i not worried.

I haven't heard a mention so far for the year of the happenings with Mr Giampiero.
MR GIAMPIERO has serious issues with his car being being held by customs in Barbadoes
Quote from: Giampiero,Mar 29 2009, 10:36 AM
My RX7 after the race in Guyana was supposed to return to Barbados(to do some repairs, turbo failed, and change of gearbox)...
Up to now (5 months later)its still in Barbados in a container at the custom...
It cannot enter Barbados unleast there is a international race and should be shipped back to Sint Maarten...
I am worry now that it will might not reach in time to fix it and ship it to Jamaica...
My RX8/20B is ready but I want to have some seat time in the USA before ship it to better know the car and for the builder to sort it out.
It look to me that the organizers of the Championship should start some talks with the competent authoryties to facilitate the circulation of the race cars from one island to an other.....

Well, the dwindling numbers have to do with reliability issues on the Guyana side and an extremely poor decision by the board to stage their event so close to an international event leaving them little or no time to sort out any kinks. It is for the better I think, would you believe MV sold his car and got beaten by his old car in his so called "Nightmare"? AK blew his engine. Word is that Stephen "Rossi" Veira , KJ(who bought and rebuilt Doug`s old car) and a few lower group cars MIGHT be loading up soon. Captain Carey might be in a better position to let you know what is happening. Rossi is a beast on the bike.
I would say this though...JA has enough headaches with team Bim, they are taking circuit racing to another level. Time to turn the boost up!

we at Team Mobay are doing upgrades to hopefully go faster, Doug trying another Turbo. Running the big boost we were running last time, Car was hard to drive flat out. Hewland dog box will be ready. Gary's car repainting in the original PUMA colors, Guy setting up the handling of his car. Car was very fast in a straight line but could not stop and turn, Chris not changing, he is happy with the set up of his car.
Should be good.

Sirgany's story
Published: Sunday | May 10, 2009
Glenroy Sinclair, Assignment Coordinator
Sirgany
Unlike most boys who opted for popular sports, Richard Sirgany gave up football and cricket for the love of motor racing. Today, his son and grandchildren share this love.
Reminiscing on his childhood, the 73-year-old retired racing driver recalled the last Manning Cup game he played in the 1950s, representing Jamaica College as goalkeeper.
"It was the last game of the season and I was called up to replace our captain, Godfrey Bell, who was injured," said Sirgany, who was also an off-spinner for the school's cricket team.
As a youngster, Sirgany grew up in central Kingston before migrating to the United States.
"I used to live at 29 Victoria Avenue, that is where the Bank of Nova Scotia is now located. My uncle used to own Sirgany Beach, near Bournemouth in east Kingston," said Sirgany.
very influential
Although retired from competitive racing, Sirgany has been very influential to his son Steve's career. Steve races at Dover Raceway, St Ann. Sirgany's grandchildren are go-kart racers at the Palisadoes Raceway, Kingston.
Last Sunday, Sirgany accompanied his son to the Dover racetrack for practice sessions. The elder Sirgany used the opportunity to climb behind the steering of the Phoenix Chasi race car he built for his son and took it for a two-lap test run.
The moment he sat behind the wheel, for him it was a trip down memory lane. He reminisced on his days at the Vernamfield racetrack in Clarendon.
"It was myself and a few other guys like Benny Machado, Gordon Brandon, Stewart Gregg, Jeffrey DePass, Sam Haggart, Pat Stephens and Eddie Nasraldo, who started racing at Vernamfield," commented Sirgany, who boasted of winning a number of races during his time.
For Steve, it was more emotional. Just watching his father completing the laps around the circuit almost brought him to tears.
"It is one of the greatest feelings I have had," said Steve, as he explained how his dad narrowly escaped from the jaws of death after a motor vehicle accident in the United States.
"When we went to Miami, I watched them taking him to the operation room for surgery. My last words to him were, hurry up come back out because I will be repairing the car you built for me, so you can get a drive," Steve recalled.
The car, which is equipped with an Alfa Romeo engine, will be among the top cars at the Caribbean Drivers' Championship, which is scheduled for Labour Day, May 25.

It raced here more than once, with a different body. Back then it was an enclosed cockpit. It won it's first race on it's last outing at Dover, them was sent to Miami to run in the IMSA Miami Grand Prix.

Thank God, ill be there to witness watever will take take. Im no professional, but i do think there is a limted to how fast a car can do a hot lap around Dover. No matter how fast a car is, how well its prepared and how skilled a driver is, no car can do the lap in 20 secs. That's just a base statement. Now with that inmind, whats the quickest we will ever see around dover? As Doug said, Summerbell was on SS tyres and blazed the lap record (or something like that). I saw the lap record being set with my own eyes and that was really fast. When DAvid just got the TA1, he was sliding around corners involuntarily, still infront of Doug. With that in mind, the AA Evo just might have 2 much power for Dover, and that just isnt good.
Ive seen 190 hp toyotas keeping up and winning 400hp nissans. Even though it wasnt a circuit race, (it was a japanese sport, touge), their is something to learn, i think. I think the TA1 is prefectly fit and powered for dover. Anything much faster just may not make much sense. whats the sense in so much power and being unable to unleash it. Remeber, Dover is not a super speed way, its more like a back a bush main road, 16.66% straights, 16.66% corners, 16.66% uphill, 16.66% downhill, 16.66% uneven (slant) surface, 16.66% level surface.
Im ready to see whats up, Are you.

The cars that were shipped off
1) A freshly built evo 3
2) Honda civic with K20 swap and individual throttle body setup
3) my car an evo 3 (originally built by HKS) but I did a bit more work to it
I will compete but not in the Caribbean championship way too fast for me
there is a fourth car but not certain about it yet...

I have a onboard video I took of Bull, before and during his accident.
Let me just say this. the fastest cars at Dover are no longer those 4 banger, breeze blowing, four paws with grip vehicles. Remember the saying that the Evo's just have the LAUNCH over thr RX, and the get up and go up the hills.
I'll post he video closer to the date of Dover.
QUESTION (straight line): How fast is Campbell's car compared to Doug's? And Gary William's, where would you rate his cars speed to Doug's? And while your at it, the TA1?

I hope the team tries running some sub 1:20sec lap times in practice, because that's likely to be the pace of the front runners.

With so many cars coming and with the locals, will there be enough pit space for all? This meet could be the biggest ever at Dover.

The overseas entrant list from 2007 comprised of 6 cars. 2008 comprised of 6 cars. So far fir this year we have 9 confirmed entrants. The carnage which occured at South Dakota 1 week ago, has put a dent in Guyana's effort, nonetheless we are expecting 2 cars from them. As this is confirmed we will pass the information on.

Imagine if this Toyota has a 2 litre engine that can put out 292 bhp, will it be a force to be reckoned with?
Formula Atlantic 4AGEs are 1600cc and 250hp last I checked.
