Good flat, wide torque curve and good chassis rotation with well timed (high speed damping) will inspire consistency with confidence. If money was not an object and I had that to spare a GT3 RSR "tweaked" Porsche cup car would be the weapon of choice for me. Power ball here I came..

Report coming out of the race meet at South Dakota Guyana today dont look good at all for ''TEAM GUYANA''
Quote from: Max,May 3 2009, 07:48 PM
Here's an update of the action from earlier today.
Race 1 GP4: Andrew King started on pole but Mark Vieira got the hole shot into turn 1.
King blew his engine
, cannot remember if he finished the first lap. Mark held the lead for a few laps but was passed by his brother Paul who went on to take the checkered flag for race 1. Mark placed second with Mohan "Suzuki" Ramgasammy in third.
Race 2 GP4: Paul on pole for race one opened up an advantage early and never looked back. Keith Evelyn passed Mark Vieira to pick up second place, Vieira placed third.
Race 3 GP4: Paul Vieira made his move early and opened a comfortable advantage on the competition. Shawn King drove to a solid second place with Mark Viera chasing in third.
Group 4 results
GP4 Race 1
1st place - Paul Vieira
2nd place - Mark Vieira
3rd place - Suzuki (in the Jiffi Lube Mazda)
4th place - Shaun King
5th place - Keith Evelyn.
GP4 Race 2
1st place - Paul Vieira
2nd place - Keith Evelyn
3rd place - Mark Vieira
GP4 Race 3
1st place - Paul Vieira
2nd place Shawn King (with a very convincing second place win)
3rd place - Mark Vieira

Is it only the Maloney's that are coming to represent Barbados? What of the King Skyline, Husbands Starlet and Thompson CRX previously mentioned?
Mark's RX3 looks like it should be on permanent display somewhere, not on a race track. Truly a great looking race car.

Douglas Maloney is the father of Mark and Stuart. There is also another brother Sean who used to race a formula atlantic spec Starlet.

The 780hp sounds reasonable, engine probably going to 9,500rpm, but the 800ft/lbs torque from a 2.1litre sounds a bit high.

Is it me or are the questions being asked about the Automotive Art Evo just so....I can't find a word.
Please read the entire thread, and marck C stop quoting back what has already been posted. This is becoming really annoying.
The fact that this car is the defending Caribbean Motor Racing Championship car, we had father Doug Maloney in the turbo Audi and son Mark who drives the Red Bull Mazda RX3 here last year, on TV, ad infinitum on this website and on the JRDC site, in the papers, radio etc etc and people are still asking who these guys are?
Read people read...it won't hurt you.

Come man, it cant be that painful.. some of us are foreigners that are not quite farmiliar with the Caribbean cars, this site, and all the "local" media that provides the promo's. Questions are less painful than stupid assumptions.

The Formula Atlantic Starlet is owned by
Stuart Williams
. This car
may
be coming to take up permanent residence in Jamaica.
Marck, there may well be a Barbadian Formula Atlantic Starlet "coming to take up permanent residence in Jamaica" but I assure you that it is not Stuart Williams' car, which is this one:
Neither is it this one, Barry Mayers

Please read the entire thread, and marck C stop quoting back what has already been posted. This is becoming really annoying.

Marc C any information on the specs of the EVO 5 of Maloney? Engine size, type, turbo, and the works. What really is responsible for its awesome performance?
Read the post, it has already been mentioned.
2.1 Liter engine.
780hp, 800 ft.lb torque
WRC Lancer Transmission w/ paddle shift
WRC Lancer Active Differentials.
780 to the wheel?
If you know, what kind of dyno/es do they have in Barbados?

It's just you
I bet if you take a poll of all Dover attendees. More than half of 'em wouldn't know which Bajan drives what car and who is Caribbean Champion.
While some may be circuit section old boys who should know better. Others may have just recently developed an interest in Dover and or Caribbean circuit racing. So prior knowldge of the Maloneys is not a given.
TV = I don't watch it.
Radio = I listen to ad driven radio ere now and then but I never heard any mention of Dover, ever.
Newspaper = Never seen mention of dover when scanning thru online. Then again that's prolly cuz I don't look at the sports section, cuz more time is cricket and mess I don't care about.
JRDC website = Not interesting enough to visit regularly to catch these updates.
Wheels = While this thread is fairly short at the moment. Not everyone has the time or patience to sift thru bible length threads containing shards of info. The search function doesn't work too well either.

Is it only the Maloney's that are coming to represent Barbados? What of the King Skyline, Husbands Starlet and Thompson CRX previously mentioned?
Mark's RX3 looks like it should be on permanent display somewhere, not on a race track. Truly a great looking race car.
Marck c, going back to toyracer's question, does your previous statement about the shipment mean that those three are the only cars coming from bdos?
On another note, I really hope your car is finished in time. Looking forward to see the machine on track
