Dover Raceway - CLOCKWISE! May 2nd - READY!

View Profile
« Reply #304 on: April 12, 2009, 10:13:59 PM »

Seems like the only E10 car running without major issue is Charles Maxwell, who outside of minor boost issues is having a decent day, qualifying 2nd in IP33 on the front row, 3 hundredths of a second off pole.

Bull is having an electrical issue which he hopes will be sorted before his first race tomorrow. All being equal, he should be ready. His performance when running well is astounding, with no real sign of 'out the box' lag.

I seem to have damaged my engine during IP45 training 2 weeks ago, after running the engine on a 90octane fuel not suited for the current state of tune for Ethanol. I am dumping 0.5 quarts of oil every lap with cracked ring guides.

All told, the midday E10 Demonstration will go as planned, so come on down for a F1 Style Demo.

Charles is entered in IP33, and may run MP if he feels up to it.

Bull is entered for Thundersport and should fight for the win if car elvyeiva gets sorted.

Teach will change from IP33 to 37 due to the issues at hand, starting from the back of the pack after not qualifying.

Wish us luck please.

David Summerbell tried a different type of tyre and went slower.

Guy Fraser had alternator failure, a pulley failure and then damaged 4th gear. Changing his gearbox for tommorow.

Chris campbell had to change a diff, but is ready again.

Doug changed his gearbox yesterday and is running ok.

Richie martin was using a borrowed gearbox but found that the gearing was too long, so he changed his final drive.

Peter Jaggon had some concerns and was sorting them out till late in the evening. The car was cutting out at certain points on the track, but he is improving.

The Leahong girls had an incident filled day. First, the car ran into the tire barrier exiting the Carib Cement corner, then it ran off near the Goodyear corner (th team filed a protest against another competitor for that one) then the car caught fire in the pits.

I'm disappointed in what I see...No. 47 (the blue Suzuki) should NEVER have been allowed to get on track without gloves and boots above the ankle. Don't let lapses in safety kill m/c racing just as it has returned and gaining popularity.

A must say bigup JRDC to all who made the event possible from the Organizer to the groundsman the event was great.  I will say that this may have been the biggest spectator turnout at Dover (if not ever) in a long time. The traffic out of that place must have been crazy when the last race was over.....    I left after 4pm and I had minor traffic problems leaving the venue.

Big up again JRDC  Wave Applause Applause

The meet was a huge success overall.
It seems that Digicel phones didn't work at the venue for the most part, neither did the Digicel wireless I had to send the updates by.
Hmmmmm,  Ponder Ponder Ponder

Driver of the meet for me was Peter jaggon. I think he won 4 of 5 races entered,
The CRX is wickedly fast.
Team Mobay racing dominated the event.
Doug Gore won 3 races or so. Summerbell won one before he broke his transfer box and was out for the day.
Official results will ahve to wait till the chief scorer, Raymond Webb, sends them out.
Don Gilbert won an MP1 race in his Suzuki Swift, even passing a much more powerful Evo II on track. Laughing Laughing

aside from that, it was a good day. Saw more racing at this meet than any other in years.

drivers of the meet are Bansie and Alan Chen for me. drove very good races, especially bansie.
Hollywood seemed to be runnign flawlessly again. TA1 falling by the wayside wierdly.

the Baileys, or at least some of them, and their crew, need to be banned from racing or at least required to take some anger management classes. what happened between them and Peter rae was unbelievable. that level of ignorance is mind-boggling and infuriating.

BTW, who was saying the lap record was gonna fall to the 1:17's again? psshh.

I was impressed with Jaggon's CRX as well.

The car not making as much power as it may appear may seem - good driver and good handling car contributed gr8tly to his success.

Meet was well organized but I was  not impressed. Most of the races were too predictive and some of the cars I wanted to see in action had probs but that's part of the game.

Peace

U mean Gary Williams  Nod Apart from Guy Fraser, they were all pretty consistent.  The big juice races became boring after the TA1 failed and Iceman didn't step up to the plate  Undecided  The more exciting races were the ones that included that maaaaaaad CRX Wacko and when Stepen Bansie got to compete 2 ThumbsUp  Not to mention Alan Chen  Not Worthy I'm still in awe.  However, I'm still wondering how DT got to enter both IP27 and IP33 Ponder Sure shocked a bredda that raced a pulsar DWL I keep telling him to get outta that class, cause he's gonna start getting a Whoop Ass from the Hondas....oh well.  Great driving DT Roll Eyes  NOTE TO ICE: Possible Monday(R) Topic

One can enter all the races of the day if one wants.
I entered IP33, then decided to bed in a new set of disc pads by runningn at the back of IP37. I had planned just to do 2 or 3 laps and then go into the pits, but I was having so much fun that I decided to actually see how many cars I could pass. I wound up in 4th place, then went immediately to the next race which was IP33.
For the next IP37 race, it seems I passed both that Pulsar and another Honda for 1st place, but I hear I am being protested, as they never knew I was in their class. Maybe it seems that if they knew I was in their class I would not have passed them.....?

Laughing Laughing
bwoy dean,,,you know i had a good laugh too.......wasnt the evo driven by the drift prince ? seems i need to buy back a gti,and tek it to dover to hunt 400whp evos  ROFL ROFL  DWL  Wacko

Western, if I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times. Spinning is different from drifting. One of the two genuine drift kings is here:

The other can be seen here:

This is SPINNING.

We have a likkle breddah who tek wey some man guy stripe from spinning. See him here:
